Safety - Use in a properly ventilated area (“room size” ventilation). Wear safety glasses, long sleeves and rubber gloves to minimize contamination risk. Store and use material at room temperature 23°C. This product has a limited shelf life and should be used as soon as possible.

Measuring and Mixing - The retarder is added by weight to Part B and should be thoroughly mixed into Part B before adding Part A.

Note: Cure time of the platinum silicone rubber will be extended in proportion to the amount of Slo-Jo® added. Adding more than 4% Slo-Jo® of Part B may reduce the ultimate physical properties of the cured rubber.

Example 1 – Smooth-Sil® 940 (10:1 Mix Ratio): To increase the pot life of Smooth-Sil® 940 from 30 minutes to 50 minutes, add 1 gram of retarder to 100 grams of Smooth-Sil® 930 Part B. Mix thoroughly for one minute, making sure that you scrape the sides and bottom of your container several times. Next, add 1000 grams of Part A and mix thoroughly for one minute, again making sure that you scrape the bottom and sides of your container several times. In about 24 hours, the rubber mold can be removed from the original model.

Example 2 – Ecoflex® 00-30 (1:1 Mix Ratio): To increase the pot life of Ecoflex® 00-30 from 45 minutes to 2 hours, add 10 grams of retarder to 1000 grams of Ecoflex® 00-30 Part B. Mix thoroughly for one minute, making sure that you scrape the sides and bottom of your container several times. Next, add 1000 grams of Part A and mix thoroughly for one minute, again making sure that you scrape the bottom and sides of your container several times. In about 7 hours, the rubber mold can be removed from the original model.
